John E. Noto, PhD

Dr. John Noto received his doctorate degree from the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, California. Since that time he has worked in a variety of positions and is well known for his contributions to developing and managing mental health programs in hospitals throughout the Chicago suburbs.

He served as the Director of Psychological Testing at Riveredge Hospital in Forest Park, the Program Director of the Counseling Center at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, and as the Director of Psychology, coordinated the ADHD Clinic, the Outpatient Counseling Center, the Sexual Dysfunction Clinic, the Biofeedback Clinic and all psychological assessments for the medical center. Additionally he was the Clinical Director for TalkLine and KidsLine, mentored many psychologists in training, and is a contributing author for a book about adults with attention deficit disorder.

Prior to finishing his Ph.D., he worked as a teacher for the Chicago Public School System. After completing his degree, he continued teaching part-time as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at the College of DuPage and DeVry Institute. (Now DeVry is called DeVry University.)

While his career has included a variety of positions, what he enjoys most is working with individuals and families to help them address problems they face in their daily lives. By using various treatment approaches, conflict resolution skills, and behavioral modification, Dr. Noto strives to help you increase self-understanding, to improve decision making, and solve problems with the goals of reducing depression, stress and anxiety, and creating a happier, more fulfilled life.

He has significant expertise in child and adolescent psychotherapy, behavior management, parent training, and psychological assessment. In addition to providing outpatient psychotherapy, Dr. Noto performs comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological testing for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning purposes.
